Leuten, die sich nicht für Indiepop interessieren, zu erklären, was das Cologne Popfest ist und was für Bands da spielen, ist nicht ganz einfach. Wir sind das ja auch nicht. Unsere Tür ist ziemlich streng, weil wir eine sehr genaue Vorstellung davon haben, was Popfest-Indiepop ist und was nicht. Zukünftig wird es leichter, unsere musikalische Vorstellung zu erklären, demnächst werden wir Lieder von Ta Toy Boy vorspielen: für so Musik machen wir unser Popfest! 
Ta Toy Boy kommen aus Thessaloniki im Nordosten Griechenlands und klingen wie die vergessene Band aus dem Katalog von Sarah Records. Elias, George und Yannis haben 2018 beim Athener Label Make Me Happy ihr Debüt-Album This Town zunächst auf CD veröffentlicht, eine Vinyl-Version folgte 2019. Ta Toy Boy erinnern mal an die Field Mice, mal an Bands wie The Wake, Belle and Sebastian, dann aber auch an New Order. 
Wir sind so glücklich, dass Ta Toy Boy ihr erstes Konzert in Deutschland bei uns spielen werden und können es nicht erwarten, Lieblingssongs wie Fields Of Summer endlich live sehen zu dürfen!

How do you explain non-music friends Cologne Popfest's philosophy? That's rather tough sometimes. Indie pop, twee pop, no not pop, indie pop! The easiest way to share our idea of music is to play songs from one of the bands we love. From now on Ta Toy Boy will be our perfect example. Cologne Popfest? It's about bands like this!
Ta Toy Boy are from Thessaloniki in Northern Greece. Their debut record was released last year by Athens based label Make Me Happy. This town is a perfect pop record, Ta Toy Boy a lost Sarah band. While listening to songs like Fields Of Summer you think of bands like the Field Mice, The Wake, Belle and Sebastian or New Order.
We are so happy (and a bit proud) to host the first ever German show of this amazing band!
