Wir können es nicht für uns behalten! Also raus damit! Am Samstag headlinen Throw That Beat in the Garbagecan! unser Cologne Popfest!
Obwohl sie sich selbst als erfolgreichste erfolglose Band der Welt bezeichnen, sind Throw That Beat! einer der wenigen deutschen Indiepop-Bands, die auch außerhalb Deutschlands bekannt sind. 1986 in Nürnberg gegründet, nahm die Band bis 1997 sechs Alben auf und löste sich dann auf. Obwohl Throw That Beat! 2014 und 2016 die ersten zwei (einmaligen) Konzerte seit 17 Jahren spielten, hätten wir nie gewagt sie anzusprechen, unser kleines Popfest zu headlinen. Gottseidank haben wir das doch uns freuen uns jetzt irre auf die beste deutsche Indiepop-Band!


Ok, ok, it's Christmas time, time for presents. Here's our Saturday headliner: Throw That Beat in the Garbagecan!
They called themselves the most successful unsuccessful band in the world but Throw That Beat! were one of very few German indie pop bands known outside Germany as well. Throw That Beat! were founded in Nuremberg and released six records until they split up in 1997. Even though the band played two (unique) reunion gigs in Nuremberg and Berlin in 2014 and 2016 - the first in 17 years - we never dared to invite them to play our little popfest. Fortunately we did - welcome Throw That Beat in the Garbagecan!
