Unsere Philosophie, nur Lieblingsbands einzuladen, ist Fluch und Segen zugleich. Denn wenn eine Band in Australien, Norwegen und Großbritannien lebt, sind Konzerte nicht häufig. Im vergangenen Jahr hatten wir das große Glück, Allo Darlin' nach langer Pause in Ramsgate und London zu sehen. Dabei erzählten Elizabeth, Bill, Mickey und Paul, dass sie an einem neuen Album arbeiten. Vielleicht hören wir in Köln ja schon neue Lieder. Allo Darlin' sind nämlich eine der seltenen Gruppen, die ausschließlich Hits schreiben. Lieder wie If loneliness was art, Tallulah, Capricornia, Silver dollars, My heart is a drummer, Let's go swimming, History lessons, Dreaming, We come from the same place (wie viel Zeit habt Ihr?).
A record is not just a record, a record can hold memories. Im April kommen neue dazu. Wir flippen gerade aus vor Freude!

Booking favourite bands only is amazing but it can be tricky if the band members live in three countries and on two continents. Since our first thoughts about a Cologne Popfest Allo Darlin' were one of the bands we had to book as soon a s possible. Allo Darlin' was love at first sight. And every album, every new song, every concert deepens our love.
We celebrated Allo Darlin' at Indietracks, we became Ukulele ultras (even if we missed the "Play Tallulah on Ukulele" workshop), we saw them three times in Cologne, we said farewell in London a couple of years ago and we travelled to the comeback shows in Ramsgate and London last year. We are beyond happy to see Elizabeth, Mickey, Paul and Bill in Cologne in April!
